'Once I receive AOW at age 67 and three months, my pension benefit will decrease.'
You can customise your pension to match your personal needs and preferences.
To help you choose, we’ll start by asking you a few questions, the answers to which will help you identify the options that best fit your situation and the next steps you can take.
You can go through the process as often as you like; you won’t be committing yourself.
What choices can you make for your pension, and are you allowed to keep working after you retire? Take the test and find out how well you know your pension plan.

Yes, but this is not mandatory. Your AOW pension age depends on your date of birth. Check the effective date of your AOW on the website of the Sociale Verzekeringsbank (SVB). This date cannot be changed. However, you can adjust the start date of your accrued pension with your fund. For instance, you can align your pension start date with your state pension age or choose to start your pension earlier.
On our website, you can explore the choices available to you. Use our handy selection tool.
Have you also accrued pension in other pension funds?
Ask the funds what choices you can make. For a complete overview of your expected pension visit mijnpensioenoverzicht.nl. If you want an indication of your expected expenses, log in to My Pension. That also shows the financial consequences of the various options available at your CDC Pensioenfonds. We regularly organise webinars to provide additional guidance. Register at pensioenwebinars.nl.
Legislation on this is still pending. This option is expected to become available on 1 July 2026, but this is not yet confirmed. Withdrawing a lump sum reduces your remaining lifelong pension. It may have tax implications or affect any supplements you receive. Be sure to seek professional advice before deciding.
To bridge the the period before your AOW pension age, you can opt for a higher pension. This is an option until your AOW age. As of your pension age, your pension will be lifelong lower. Or you can choose an AOW bridging pension. A part of our pension will then compensate for the period before your AOW pension starts. In this case, your lifelong pension payments will also be lower.
Do you retire before your AOW pension starts? Then you can convert part of your pension into an AOW bridging pension to compensate for the period until your AOW age. If you opt for this, you convert part of your pension into a bridging pension until your AOW starts. With that amount, you compensate until your AOW age. Your monthly, lifelong pension payment after your AOW pension age will therefore be lower. Alternatively, you can choose a higher pension first and then a lower pension (First more, then less) which allows you to receive a higher pension for up to 10 years, followed by a lower lifelong pension. Both options can be combined, but there is a maximum range between the higher and lower pension amounts (100:75).
Yes. For example, you can choose part-time retirement, allowing you to continue working part-time while receiving a partial pension.
Yes. Your pension with ING Pensioenfonds starts on the first day of the month in which you turn 65. You will receive a letter about this six months before your 65th birthday. The default start date with the CDC Pensioenfonds is 67 years. You can align the starting date of your pension with ING Pensioenfonds to that of the CDC Pensioenfonds or viceversa.
If your partner has accrued a substantial pension, you may consider converting (part of) the partner pension into a higher pension for yourself. In this case, your partner will receive little or no partner’s pension after your death. Conversely, you can also allocate part of your own pension to increase your partner’s pension, which will result in a lower pension for yourself.
The Pension Planner lets you explore your options and see how they impact your pension. You can compare different plans and choose the one that suits you best.
If you have accrued a pension with ING CDC Pensioenfonds, you will receive a letter six months before your 67th birthday, informing you that your pension will start in six months. For NN CDC Pensioenfonds, this letter is sent six months before your 68th birthday. You will be asked to communicate your choices via a form. In the month your pension starts, you will receive a confirmation letter. If no action is taken, your pension will start automatically, and you will receive a confirmation letter in the same month.
